Flight School: Air Jordan Spizikes

You might just have a pair or two of “retro Frankensteins” on your shoe rack.  Prior to the inaugural release of what are now called the “Spizikes” in 2006, they were initially named “retro Frankenstein” based on their never-seen before, abnormal Air Jordan features that were combined using the design concepts of six Air Jordan models.  But they weren’t exactly the most fan favorite non-numbered Air Jordan model until after director Spike Lee debuted the “Do The Right Thing” White/Varsity Red-Argon Blue-Gold model in 2007.  Incorporating the sole, midsole and elephant print from the Air Jordan 3, the back tab from the Air Jordan 9 and the main construction of the shoe from the Air Jordan 5, the Spizikes are a huge chunk of the Air Jordan culture and remains to be an iconic, stylish sneaker.
