Flight School: Nike Air Zoom Flight Five [Jason Kidd Memoir]
As a tribute to Jason Kidd’s retirement from the NBA after 19 seasons, we dedicate this Flight School post to one of the greatest sneakers he wore during his time with the Suns, Nets and Knicks. The Nike Air Zoom Flight Five, hardly seen as a sneaker worn off the hardwood, is a low to mid silhouette that perfectly caters to a quick cutting and agile point guard. Known as J. Kidd’s first signature sneaker by Nike which featured a glossy, mirror like “bug eye” at the midsole, 3M material and subtle swoosh branding at the front and tongue, originally released in 1997 during his early years with the Dallas Mavericks. So with great players, comes great sneakers, and we’ll certainly miss a true classic point guard like J. Kidd in the NBA.
