Jordan Super.Fly 3 ‘Slam Dunk’
During the ‘90s, basketball experienced rapid globalization and fans all around the world became wildly fascinated with hoops. For America and beyond, Michael Jordan became the face of the sport thus rising to global super-stardom and inspired many including Japanese manga artist, Takehiko Inoue. Inoue created a manga called “Slam Dunk” which revolved around a protagonist named Hanamichi Sakuragi who worked through challenges and adversity as a high school basketball player. The all-black upper of the Jordan Super.Fly 3 showcases sketches and illustrations of the “Slam Dunk” world. Even the shoebox serves as an additional platform to tell Sakuragi’s story.
