2013 – 2014 NFL Season Preview: Are You Reeeeeeeady?
It feels like just yesterday we were watching one of the craziest Superbowls in recent history. It had everything — the suspense, the back and forth battle, the storylines (none more intriguing than Colin Kaepernick’s rise to stardom and Ray Lewis bowing out on top), and of course, an arena-wide blackout. Ultimately, the Ravens, led by quarterback Joe Flacco, would emerge victorious in a Superbowl for the ages. How do you top what happened last season? You don’t. You forge new memories — better memories.
That’s why we’re so pumped for the upcoming NFL Season. Sure, the offseason may have flown by — thanks to other sports occupying our attention — but there’s never a bad time for football. Entering the season, there is no clear cut favorite to hoist the Superbowl trophy up in February. The 49ers seemed to only get better this offseason, but how will their star QB react to the pressure of high expectations? Could the Ravens beat the odds and repeat as champions, a feat that hasn’t occurred in nearly a decade? Or will the league be taken by surprise by an on-the-rise team determined to make every commentator eat their words in early Spring. Personally, we think Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers are going to have a very special season. We’re not saying they’ll win the whole enchilada…but we wouldn’t rule anyone out at this point.
Who do YOU think is going to win it all this year? Any odds-on favorites for MVP? What about some choices for league-wide sleepers and busts? Let us know what you’re thinking as we wrap up our final fantasy drafts and prepare for sport fans’ favorite Sunday ritual.
