Dunk Of The Decade

Are our eyes deceiving us? Is that a bird, or a plane? Did the physical feat of the 21st century take place on Monday night? Blake Griffin and his high-flying ways have earned him another spot in the “Posterization” hall fame. Much respect given, as it came during an NBA week that originally revolved around 2-time MVP Lebron James skying over the heads of grown men. Blake Griffin definitely wowed the masses and became the talk of the town with what is arguably the best dunk of the year, of his career, and possibly the best in recent NBA history. The second year player’s hops have been captivating fans since his annihilation of the Knicks’ Mozgov last year, and he continues to show how much of a force he truly is. The grace, power and body control with which he throws the ball down is a sight not seen since the likes of Shawn Kemp and Dominique Wilkins. Unfortunately, the recipient of aerial disrespect is none other than Kendrick Perkins and we sympathize if he needs time to recuperate from the event. The red-hot Clippers were able to edge out a win over the league’s best team, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Griffin’s posterizing acrobatics only helped in that effort. Considering that this is only a third into the season, and not too far into Griffin’s career, we could be seeing many similar highlights for years to come.
