Flight School: Bo Jackson Air Trainer
Generally speaking, the biggest stars get the best shoes. But certain stars undoubtedly added an appeal to their shoes that otherwise couldn’t be achieved without transcending the sport. It’s no coincidence that Michael Jordan’s sneakers warrant camp outs to this day or that Nike can retro Ken Griffey’s sneakers every season. In 1989, Nike released the Air Trainer that would go onto become internally recognized as the Bo Jackson Air Trainer. Thanks to one of Nike’s strongest marketing campaigns ever in the “Bo Knows” series, the Trainer would further grew in popularity, surging a retro comeback in recent years. You can find these on shelves today though Bo stopped breaking bats over his knee over two decades ago.
But always remember: Bo still knows.
