Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low ‘Beethoven’
When you think of modern basketball kicks, the 18th century doesn’t immediately come to mind when thinking about inspirations and influences of their designers. However, Nike Basketball has done exactly that with the Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low “Beethoven” edition. Serving as an homage to the German composer and more specifically the pianist’s Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op.125—simply known to many as the “Ninth Symphony” or “The Choral”—which aligns with Kobe Bryant’s ninth Nike signature. Coupling Wolf Grey with both Black and White while incorporating technologies like Flyknit upper, Dynamic Flywire support, a carbon fiber heel counter, and Lunarlon cushioning, the sneaker makes a connection to piano keys.
